Indian Railways Started E-Pass Module for Rail Employees

Indian Railways has developed an e-pass module for rail employees which will give them the facility to use it from home. Railway employees doing field duty will no longer have to travel around their headquarters or pass section to get a pass or PTO.

Rail News: Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav has released the Indian Railways e-pass module for online pass generation and ticket booking by railway employees. Now railway officers and employees can apply online for e-pass and Privilege Ticket Order (PTO) from anywhere and can get it online. Rule of E-Pass Module of Railways Employees

Gazetted officers get six rail passes in a year, and three rail passes after retiring. Through this pass, they and their dependents can travel free of cost. Non-gazetted employees get three passes in a year and two passes a year after retirement. Railway personnel also receive four PTO, i.e. Privilege Ticket Order. They have to pay a one-third fare to travel through the PTO.

This facility will help the railway employees to use the rail passes easily and at the same time will facilitate the work of issuing passes to all the officials. The HRMS project is a comprehensive plan for the digitization of the complete human resource process of Indian Railways. A total of 21 modules are planned in HRMS. The basic data entry of about 97 per cent of the railway employees and its e-service records have been fed into it.
