Eastern Railways Have Proposed to Stop the Operation of 34 Passenger Trains
Indian Railways has proposed to stop the operations of 17 pairs of trains on Eastern Railway division. A proposal has been sent to the Railway Board for permanent cancellation of a total of 34 passenger trains.
Eastern Railways of Indian Railways has proposed to stop the operations of 34 passenger trains. According to sources, a proposal to close the operations of these trains has been sent to the railway board for review. The information has also been received through a letter from the Railway Board that a proposal to cancel 34 trains of East Central Railway has been made to the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, by the Chief Passenger Operations Manager, Eastern Railway.

Railways Proposed This Offer for the Smooth Operation of Freight and Private Trains
Nikhil Chakraborty, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway, said, “The list is correct, but the Railway Board has not yet decided on the removal of those trains.” He said, all these trains are being handed over to smoothen the movement of freight and private trains. Railways will run trains with private companies. That is why the global tender is being called.
The Proposal Includes Stopping of These Trains:
• Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Weekly AC Express
• Sealdah-Sitamadhi Express
• Kolkata-Patna Express
• Howrah-Amritsar Express
• Howrah-Srigangasagar Express
• Sealdah-Rampurhat Tri-Weekly Intercity-Express
• Sealdah-Varanasi Upper India Express
• Vardaman-Malda Town Passenger
• Howrah-Rajgir Fast Passenger
• Vardaman-Triphar passenger
• Rampurhat-Badharwa Bamdev Passenger and some other passengers trains.
The Opposition is Raising a Concern Over This Proposal
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a former state minister for railways and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Congress MP from Behrampur, said, “I think the number of trains should be increased to maintain social distance in Corona. The central government is moving in the opposite direction. It will be terrible if it happens.” Adhir also said, “I will try to raise the issue in the right place. But the state government also has a responsibility.”
Passengers Going to Bihar-UP May Face Trouble
Passengers of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh will have to face many difficulties due to permanent closure of six pairs of trains of Sahibganj railway section of east-central railways. The ECR has proposed to permanently close the Upper India Express train to Patna, Banaras and Delhi in the Pakur-Rampurhat railway section.
This information has been given by the Chief Passenger Operations Manager of East Railway Kolkata, KN Chandra to the Pakur Station Manager by sending a letter. There is a lot of outrage among the people with this decision of the east-central railways. Locals have said that the cancellation of trains is planned by the former railway headquarters Kolkata under a political conspiracy.
