Railways will Switch to Khadi Bed Sheets and Plastic Curtains

Coronavirus outbreak has created havoc in India. The Indian Railways has left no stones unturned to protect the country from the risk of COVID-19 infection. Earlier, it was announced that the blankets and bedrolls will not be provided to the passengers in the AC coach but later passenger trains were completely shut as social distancing is the only medicine to control or stop the infection from spreading. However, the entire nation is waiting for the train service to resume its normal speed. Before the commencement of operations; Indian Railways is planning to change or adapt some measures which can avoid the coronavirus infection among passengers. Under this perspective, railways will no more provide the blankets to the passengers; instead, they will be provided with a thick khadi bedroll. It can be easily washed after use by a passenger. All coaches will be sanitized as soon as the trains reach their destination.

The Curtains in AC Coach were Removed:
The spiking cases of coronavirus found in the country; the railway administration immediately removed all the curtains in the AC coach. With this, there is churn on temporarily removing the blankets given to the passengers. Washing and maintaining blankets cannot be done daily as it is washed on an interval of 15 days. These blankets were used by dozens of passengers which can spread coronavirus infection.

All Coaches will be sanitized
Railway administration has started preparations to start train operations. After the trains arrive at the destination all the coaches will be sanitized and disinfected only then the trains will run for their return journey. The railway administration is considering the curtain and blankets of the AC coach to be replaced with plastic curtains and khadi bedroll. Plastic curtains will replace the current one that can be washed easily. The white sheet, pillow cover and towel found in the AC coach are then washed after the journey ends. At the same time, the blankets will be replaced with a sheet of Khadi or synthetic cloth. After its use, it will be washed and then forwarded to other passengers.

Eight Express Trains to run in Moradabad railway division
The Moradabad Railway Division runs eight express trains. In these trains, sheets and blankets are provided from Bareilly, Dehradun and Haridwar. Blankets have also been removed from here. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Rekha said that blankets and curtains have been removed from AC coaches due to the chances of spreading coronavirus. It is being considered to replace with a thick khadi sheet.

Railway Stands firmly in the battle of Corona
Railways are making efforts at their level to prevent coronavirus infection. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), masks and sanitizers are being made in railway factories to protect people engaged in the treatment of coronavirus infection. Northern Railway officials say that doctors, health workers and sanitation workers in railway hospitals are engaged in the service of cleaning and taking care of patients. Along with creating isolation wards in railway hospitals, quarantine centers have been built on railway premises in many places. Necessary steps are being taken to protect the employees posted here. There will be no shortage of resources.

There is a Huge Increase in the COVID-19 case in India
The number of patients infected with the coronavirus is increasing continuously across the country. According to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, 1383 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and 50 people have died. After this, the total number of corona positive cases across the country has increased to 19,984, of which 15,474 are active, 3870 people have recovered or have been discharged from hospital and 640 have died. Today 64 new cases have been reported in Rajasthan and 94 in Gujarat.
