Indian Railways Will Implement 20 Innovations for the Security of Passengers

Indian Railways is going to Implement 20 innovations in all railway zones of India which are aimed for technological improvements to increase safety for Rail passengers. The Railway Board has made a plan to implement suggestions in the Indian Railways Network.

 

Rail News: Indian Railways is making many efforts to make the journey of rail passengers safer and more comfortable. Railways have announced to implement 20 innovations in this direction. The latest changes include the ringing of bells to alert passengers, installing CCTV cameras in coaches, sending unreserved tickets on mobiles, and a mechanism to alert passenger’s minutes before the train starts running.

 

In this period of corona pandemic, these innovations of Indian railways will definitely play an important role in the security and safety of Rail passengers.

Innovations are Aimed to Use Technology to Increase Security

According to an order issued by the Railways, the Railway Board has made a plan to implement suggestions in the Indian Railways Network. An order has been released to the General Manager and Production Units of all the zones. Most of these 20 innovations are aimed at technological improvements to increase security.

Indian Railways Have Received 2,645 Suggestions for Improvement

Indian Railways started a portal in 2018 to know the views of employees of different zones and implement good recommendations in their network. On behalf of the zonal railways, they have uploaded their suggestions on the web portal. A total of 2,645 proposals have been received on the interface from September 2018 to December 2019.

After reviewing all these proposals and ideas from different zones, the railway board has finalized 20 innovations to be implemented across the country.

 

Zero-Contact Ticketing Service Will Be Applied in Railways

The list has a suggestion for using a system for monitoring CCTV footage on trains. Another innovation the railway is looking at is the air quality monitoring equipment developed by North Central Railway (NCR) and installed at Prayagraj railway station.

 

Northern Railway has developed a system to encourage people to not get in touch with each other in the wake of the Coronavirus epidemic. Also, Railways has issued unreserved tickets through mobile apps and Bluetooth printers. Railway Board has directed all zones to submit a report to adopt the finalized 20 innovations within the next three months.
