Lockdown 2.0: Passenger Trains will not run Till 3rd May

Addressing the country today, PM Modi has extended the lockdown till May 3 under Lockdown 2.0. After this announcement by PM Narendra Modi, Indian Railways has also announced that no passenger trains will run till 3rd May (till the lockdown extension date). Earlier, it was reported that the Indian Railways has made full preparations for running trains and it will take a decision after Modi’s addressal to the country on 14th of April. But now that the lockdown has been extended and the railways has also announced to stop running passenger trains till May 3rd.

All Passenger Trains Cancelled till May 3rd
In order to prevent the spread of COVID 19 infection, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to extend the lockdown across the country till 3 May 2020. In view of the lockdown, Indian Railways has issued instructions to cancel all passenger train services. In the directive issued by Indian Railways, all passenger trains including premium trains, mail / express trains, passenger trains, suburban trains, Kolkata Metro Rail, Konkan Railway etc. will be cancelled round the clock till 3rd May 2020.

Trains Ticket booking closed till May 3rd
Apart from this, Indian Railways has given other important notice. According to the press release issued by the Indian Railways, movement of goods and parcel trains will continue to ensure the necessary supplies in different parts of the country. Also, passenger ticket booking has been closed till May 3rd . All the counters for booking of train journey tickets for reserved / unreserved journey at railway stations and railway station premises will be closed till 3rd May 2020. This information was given by Rajesh Dutt Bajpai, Executive Director, Ministry of Railways.

Lockdown extended until May 3rd
For the war against coronavirus, PM Narendra Modi has decided to extend the lockdown till 3rd May. He said “till May 3, all of us, every countryman will have to remain in lockdown”. During this time, we have to follow the discipline in the same way as we have been doing. PM Modi told the countrymen that we will keep patience, follow the rules and we will be able to defeat the coronavirus epidemic.

Lockdown Strategy Worked For the Country
Significantly, to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country, nationwide lockdown has been extended till May 03. Along with this, PM Modi also told how this strategy of nationwide lockdown worked for the country and successfully continues to curb the pandemic. While this epidemic has brought the powerful countries of the world to their knees, India took major decisions as soon as it was detected.

Some Important Activities can be allowed from April 20
Let us tell you that in the address to the nation, PM Modi said, “Friends, keeping in mind all the suggestions, it has been decided that the lockdown in India will now have to be increased till May 3. PM Modi said, “The fight against Corona will further increase in the next one week. By 20th April, every town, every police station, every district and every state will be tested okn the parameters like how much lockdown is being followed, how far any area has saved itself from Corona, it will be seen”. The successful areas in this ordeal will not be in the hotspot. Some important activities can be allowed from April 20 onward. Therefore, neither do any negligence nor let anyone else be negligent. A detailed guideline will be issued by the government in this regard by tomorrow.
