Indian Railways Has Deployed 500 Isolation Coaches in New Delhi
Intending to provide maximum facilities for the increasing cases of Covid-19, Indian Railways has decided to give 500 isolation coaches in New Delhi. 8,000 beds have been increased for Corona patients in Delhi.
The central government has made arrangements for 500 isolation coaches in New Delhi on Tuesday. Because of the lack of beds for Corona patients in the New Delhi hospitals, the Indian Railways’ COVID care centre coaches are deployed in New Delhi. Now, 8000 beds have been increased for Corona patients in Delhi. There are 16 beds in each compartment of the isolation ward of the railways.
The total number of beds increased to 37,000 after 500 railways isolation coaches
After the Central Govt. has given 500 isolation coaches, the total number of beds in Delhi has been increased to 37,000. A team of Indian Railways worked with Delhi government officials to identify the locations for these railway coaches. According to the officials, on Tuesday, around 180 isolation coaches have been deployed at Anand Vihar railway station and other stations of New Delhi. The Chief Medical Officer of the state will take care of these isolation wards.
There are 8 cabins in each isolation coaches
Railways said that the guidelines of the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry are being followed in all these coaches. There are eight cabins in each coach. It will be tried that only one patient remains in a cabin. Patients in the coach who are suspected of Corona will be kept separate from the patients who are Corona positive. If needed, only Corona positive patients will be kept in the cabin with Corona positive patients. Isolation coaches will be linked through the nearby hospital so that the patient can be shifted to that COVID care centres in case of poor health.
Railways Nodal officers will coordinate with the Delhi Govt.
After a meeting on Monday, Delhi BJP President Adesh Kumar Gupta said that after 500 railway isolation coaches get delivered to Delhi, the number of beds for Corona patients in the capital will increase to 37,000. These COVID care centres of the railways will be connected to the nearest hospital so that patients can be taken there quickly in an emergency. For this, Railways has appointed nodal officers for each state who will coordinate with the local government.
Railways have deployed 40 isolation coaches at Shakurbasti railway station.
Earlier, after the instructions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Monday, the railway had deployed 40 such coaches at Shakurbasti railway station, where already 10 such coaches were being used by the Indian Railways. 1,647 new Corona cases were reported in Delhi on Monday, taking the total number of infected people to 42,829. At the same time, the number of people dead from Corona has increased to 1,400.
9,900 people have died so far due to COVID-19
Considering the current scenario in India, the number of Corona patients has increased to 3,43,091. At the same time, 9,900 people have died due to this pandemic. A large number of people have been cured of this infection; the number of people recovering is 1,80,013. India has 1,53,178 Corona cases active in India right now.
