Indian Railways Special Trains to Handle the Shravani Mela Rush

Shravani/Shrawani Mela is a significant Hindu pilgrimage Mela dedicated to Lord Shiva, attracting millions of ardent devotees from across the country every year. During this fair, people visit different temples of Lord Shiva to get his blessings. 

 

 

Trains are the commendable mode of transport in the country, resulting in high-rush on railway stations, and trains. To handle the rush of Sawan, Indian Railways has announced several amenities, including special reserved and unreserved trains, especially for the stations like Jashidih, Bhagalpur, Samastipur, Gaya, Sultanganj etc. 

 

If you’re travelling through a high-rush route, you can check special trains to ensure you have a comfortable journey.  Moreover, you can take the help of a rail app to plan your journey. The app will help you to check the train timetable, PNR status, live train running status etc.

List of Shravan Special Trains 2023

 

East Central Railways has announced several Shravan Special Trains. Here is the list:

 

  • 05574 Samastipur – Bhagalpur Shravani Mela Special is an unreserved train. It will depart from Samastipur at 02:30 PM every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday between 17.07.2023 & 30.08.2023. Whereas, 05573 Bhagalpur – Samastipur Shravani Mela Special will leave Bhagalpur at 9:00 PM every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday between 17.07.2023 & 30.08.2023.
  • 03244 Danapur – Jasidih Shravani Mela Special departs from Danapur at 07:20 AM every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday between 17.07.2023 & 29.08.2023. Whereas, 03243 Jasidih – Danapur Shravani Mela Special will leave Jasidih at 02:30 PM every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday between 17.07.2023 & 29.08.2023.
  • Four pairs of Tarakeswar and Sheoraphuli EMU Special trains to handle the Shravan rush will depart at 05:55 AM, 08:10 AM, 02:50 PM, and 06:40 PM on 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 July, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 27, 28, and 31 August. The same trains will return in the opposite direction, leaving Tarakeswar at 06:55 AM, 09:20 AM, 04:20 PM, and 07:40 PM respectively.
  • Two pairs of Howrah-Tarakeswar EMU Special trains will depart at 04:05 AM and 12:50 PM. The same trains will return to reach Howrah at 10:55 AM and 09:17 PM. The trains will run on 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 July, 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 27, 28, and 31 August.
  • 03511 Asansol-Patna Shravani Mela Special train will be operational from July 3 to August 30. It will run for two days a week – Monday and Wednesday. The train will depart from Asansol at 04:50 PM to reach Patna at 11:55 PM. Patna-Asansol Shravani Mela Special Train will be operational from July 4 to August 31. It will run for two days a week—Tuesday and Thursday. The train will depart from Patna at 01:15 AM to reach Asansol at 08:30 AM on the same day.
  • 03698 Gaya-Jasidih Shravani Mela Special Train will be starting its operation from July 5 to August 31. The train will leave Gaya at 8:55 PM and will reach Patna at 11:55 PM to arrive at its destination Jasidih at 5:45 AM the next day. Similarly, train no. 03697 Jasidih-Gaya Shravani Mela Special will leave Jasidih at 07:45 AM and reach Patna at 02:40 PM daily. It will be operational from July 6 to September 1.
  • 05508 Raxaul-Bhagalpur Shravani Special Train will begin its run from July 5 to August 31. It will depart from Raxaul at 5:15 AM to reach Bhagalpur at 2:30 PM. In the down line, train no. 05507 Bhagalpur-Raxaul Shravani Mela Special will depart Bhagalpur at 04:30 PM daily from July 5 to August 31. It will reach Raxaul at 3:15 AM the next day.
  • 13236 Danapur-Sahibganj Shravani Mela Special Train begins its journey from Danapur at 04:50 AM. Train number 13235 Danapur-Sahibganj-Danapur Intercity Express will be operated at 02:45 PM. These trains will run from July 9 to August 27.
  • Train number 05028 Gorakhpur-Deoghar Special Train is operational from July 2 to August 31. It will leave Gorakhpur at 8:00 PM to reach Deoghar at 12:40 PM the next day. Train no. 05027 Deoghar-Gorakhpur Shravani Mela Special Train will depart Deoghar at 06:50 PM daily from July 3 to September 1. It will reach Gorakhpur at 11:20 AM the next day.
  • 03266 Patna – Bhagalpur Shravani Mela Special Train leaves Patna at 6:40 AM daily. 03265 Bhagalpur – Patna at 03:15 PM. The train is running from 6 July to 31 August.
  • 03206 Mokama – Jasidih will run between 5 July to 31 August daily, leaving the station at 9:15 AM. The down train will start from Jasidih at 12:30 PM.
  • 03511 Asansol – Patna will leave Asansol at 04:50 PM on Wednesday and Monday between 3 July to 30 August. Whereas 03512 Patna – Asansol will leave Patna at 01:15 AM on Thursday and Tuesday between 4 July and 31 August.

 

Apart from these special trains, Indian Railways has also implemented special stoppages for different passing trains and increased the stoppage duration of certain trains at different stations including Jasidih, Sultanganj, Kiul Junction etc. You can board any of the trains to visit your Shrawan destination.
