Indian Railways Started Tatkal Ticket Booking Services from Today

Tatkal ticket booking facility will be available for 200 special trains that have been running since June 1 and special Rajdhani trains since May 12.

 

Special passenger trains are still being operated by Indian Railways amid the Corona crisis. Meanwhile, the Railways has now started its Tatkal ticket booking service from Monday. This service has been started for special trains run by Railways.

 

Tatkal booking of AC class tickets and Sleeper class tickets can be made from 10 am, and 11 am respectively. Tatkal ticket booking service in Indian Railways was interrupted since the lockdown period. Now, passengers can avail the service again.

Shivaji Sutar has written in his tweet that the Tatkal ticket booking facility has started from June 29 and railways is running trains whose number begins with zero (0). This service will benefit a lot of travellers. For the train journey from June 30, you can book Tatkal tickets for AC class from 10 am on June 29 and for Sleeper class from 11 am. However, no official information has been revealed about this from the railways so far.

 

How can you book Tatkal Ticket?

To avoid congestion at the ticket counter, you can book tickets online. IRCTC’s e-ticketing website provides this facility of Tatkal ticket booking. For this, you have to first create your account on this website. In the next step, you have to enter the name of the station from where you want to depart. Along with this, ‘Journey Date’ has to be entered. After this, you have to click on ‘Submit’. Now, select the trains from the trains’ list in which you want to travel. Click on Tatkal quota. Enter the number of passengers and make the payment. This way, you will get an instant ticket.

 

Remember these things during the Tatkal ticket booking:

• Tatkal tickets can be booked one day before the booking of a journey.
• After the Tatkal ticket booking, it is mandatory to have ID proof during the trip.
• There is no refund on the reservation of confirmed Tatkal tickets.
• When the train is cancelled or diverted, the railway refunds the entire money when the ticket is cancelled.

 

Regular passenger train services have been closed till August

Railway passengers will be able to avail Tatkal ticket facility for their journey from June 30. Because of Covid-19, all trains in the regular schedule have been cancelled till August 12. In this regard, the Railway Board had said that the services of all Mail/Express and Intercity trains with regular schedules have been cancelled till August 12. Also, all passenger trains have been cancelled till August 12. These trains had been earlier cancelled until June 30. Now, the duration of cancellation has been extended till August 12.

 

The board has made it clear that all special trains which are running from May 12 and June 1 will continue to operate. It has been made clear from the new order that till August 12, only special trains will operate.
