Railways to Run 12,000 Special Trains for Deepawali and Chhath
As we are aware of the upcoming festivals and the Indian Railways start preparing for the convenience, comfort and smooth journey for the passengers. Festivals are nearby and the crowd will increase. Railways will operate special trains especially for the festivals. These trains are going to Purvanchal and Bihar and will pass through Bareilly. The timetable is not released yet, but soon it will.
Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Railway Minister quoted- Indian Railway is decided to operate more than 12,000 special trains to manage the festive rush during Deepawali and Chhath. After discussing and consultation with Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, MP Sanjay Jaiswal, Union Minister Lalan Singh, and MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, the officials took this decision. The Minister emphasised that would ensure smooth return travel for passengers.
According to the Union Railway Minister the passengers travelling between 13 and 26 onward and between 17th November and December 1st. Return journeys get the discount of 20% on their return tickets.
Special Trains and Railway Projects Announced to Boost Bihar’s Connectivity
To amplify the connectivity 4 Amrit Bharat Express Train has launched. Connects Gaya to Delhi, Saharsa to Amritsar, Chhapra to Delhi, and Muzaffarpur to Hyderabad. Especially for the middle class families a new Buddha Circuit train will begin and the aim is to give relief, starting covering Vaishali, Hajipur, Sonepur, Patna, Rajgir, Gaya and Koderma.
He also outlined infrastructure projects in Bihar, including the expansion of the Buxar Lakhisarai section into a four-line corridor. The development of a ring railway system around Patna, new rail connectivity between Sultanganj and Deoghar, and a new train service between Patna and Ayodhya. Authorities will take up the washing pit facility at Laukaha Bazar and approve different road overbridges.

Timetable and Ticketing
Chief Public Relations Officer of Northeast Railway, Pankaj Singh, informed that timetable for most of the special trains will be released by the first week of September. Ticket bookings will commence simultaneously. With the installation of automatic signal systems across several Train Routes, average train speeds have improved. Which is expected to minimize delays during the festive season.
Service Disruptions Due to Signal Work
Rail operations on the Pilkhua–Dasna section of Moradabad division will be partially affected due to automatic signal commissioning. On 10th September, train 15909 Dibrugarh–Lalgarh Express ran 45 minutes late, and on 14th September it ran 150 minutes late. September 16th, train 12584 Anand Vihar–Lucknow Double Decker Express will run 90 minutes late, while train 12558 Anand Vihar–Muzaffarpur Express will run 75 minutes late.
Extension of Dhanbad Special Trains
To fulfil the passengers demand Indian Railways has expanded the services of Special trains from Dhanbad-Chandigarh and Dhanbad-Jammu Tawi. Train number Dhanbad-Jammu Tawi will run every Tuesday and Saturday till December 13. The return services run every Wednesday and Sunday till September 14 and the train number is 03311.
Same as above Train no. 03312 Dhanbad–Chandigarh will run on Tuesday and Friday till the 12th September. Train no. 03312 Dhanbad–Chandigarh will run on Thursday and Sunday till 14th September.
