Indian Railways First Linen Kiosk Machine Inaugurated at Patna Junction

Indian Railways has invented the first linen kiosk dispensary machine at Patna Junction under Danapur rail division. Due to the Coronavirus, pillow and bedsheets were banned in trains. In such a situation, the Railways has given these new facilities.

 

For the first time in the country, a kiosk has been installed at Patna Junction through which disposable, bedsheets, cladding sheets, blankets, comforters, masks, sanitizers, toilet sheet covers will be provided to passengers.

 

This type of kiosk has been installed in the railway for the first time at Patna Junction. Later, this kiosk will also be installed at Rajendra Nagar, Pataliputra and Danapur stations of Danapur division. Four more such kiosks will be installed at Patna Junction next week.

 

DRM Danapur Railways Division Inaugurated the Linen Kiosk

Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Sunil Kumar, inaugurated the linen kiosk at Patna Junction. He said railways would install three more linen kiosks at Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Danapur and Patliputra Junction in next coming days.

Through linen kiosk dispensary machines, railways will provide ‘use and throw’ facilities. Through the machine, non-woven bed sheets, toilet sheet covers, masks, hand gloves would be easily available for the passengers of special trains. Passengers can make payments through digital or manual mode to avail the facilities.

 

A Blanket Will Also Be Available For Rs 200

If you need a blanket, then you can get it through the kiosk upon paying Rs 200. For the same amount, you can get a sheet, a sanitizer sachet along with a blanket. Similarly, a sheet, a mask, a sanitizer sachets and a pillow with a blanket will be available for Rs 250.

 

Three Packets Will Be Available in Linen Kiosk of Railways:

• Rs 50: Disposable bed sheet, mask and sanitizer pockets.
• Rs 100: Disposable bed sheet, muffler sheet, mask, sanitizer pocket and toilet seat cover.
• Rs 250: Disposable bed sheet, muffler blanket or comforter, mask, sanitizer and toilet seat cover.

 

Passengers Have Appreciated the Step of East Central Railways

After starting the first-of-its-kind service at Patna junction, the railway passengers have expressed the happiness over the disposable linen kiosk machine. Passengers said that this would increase the confidence for travelling amid the pandemic period of Covid-19.

 

On the first day of the inauguration of this service, almost 50 passengers purchased the Covid-19 safety material for their journey. A railway official said that this service is only available for the passengers of special trains who are allowed to travel on confirm tickets.

 

A Mask and Sanitizer Dispensary Machine Was Also Installed at Patna Junction

Recently, Danapur division has also installed a mask and sanitizer dispensary machine for the passengers to fight with Covid-19. Following the example of the Patna junction, many Railways stations have also added this type of facility on their premises.

 

Railways are always improving their services because of the safety and security concern of the passengers. Moreover, contactless ticket checking system has also been applied at several railway stations of India.
