Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made a statement that the bullet train in India is set for testing in May or June 2027. He added that the Honourable Prime Minister will inaugurate it after successful testing for two to four months.

During the NaMo for Viksit Bharat event in Vadodara, Vaishnaw shared the latest updates on the indigenous bullet train body. The first body frame has been constructed and sent for further testing to ensure load capacity.

However, the project is at its highest potential, and upcoming testing will decide the upcoming train travel future. After a 2-4 month testing period, it will proceed to the final stage to open for commercial activity.

 

Bullet Train in India Testing Updates

 

High-speed Bullet train in India is set for the testing phase by Mid 2027. Ashwini Vaishnaw confirms and shares further updates on the Bullet train project.

According to the shared information, the first bullet train body frame has been completed and sent for the squeeze test to ensure its efficiency.

By mid 2027, the train is expected to prepare for the testing phase, making a big success in the Make in India initiative.

Passengers will soon check the live train running status of Bullet Train India once inaugurated, expected at the end of 2027.

 

When Will Bullet Train India Be Ready for Commercial Activity?

 

According to Vaishaw’s statement, the testing phase will be completed by the end of 2027. After that, the train will be inaugurated and available for commercial activity.

Since the Bullet train project is an indigenous project ready for commercial activity will become a major achievement.

India Bullet train is in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and will travel between Vadodara and Mumbai.

However, the train schedule will be released soon and will become available for booking after successful testing.

 

First Indigenous Bullet Train Route

 

The first indigenous Bullet train will run between Vadodara and Mumbai, “said Vaishnaw”. Moreover, the expected travel time is 90 minutes.

The high-speed bullet train in India is expected to connect the commercial cities in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, offering better connectivity.

Additionally, the Surat-Vapi section is proceeding rapidly and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

The list of proposed Bullet train in India will connect Delhi, UP, and Bihar cities.

  • Delhi-Lucknow Bullet train will complete the journey in 2 hours and 12 minutes, as proposed.
  • Delhi-Kanpur Bullet train will have an expected travel time of 1 hour 45 minutes.
  • However, the project aims to reduce travel time with the high speed of bullet trains.

 

280 Railway Stations Redevelopment Completed

 

  • Vaishnaw added that 280 railway station redevelopment works have been completed and 36,000 tracks have been newly developed.
  • Moreover, cargo trains are being developed using the Vande Bharat technology to modernise railways.
  • Ongoing changes are a part of making Indian Railways more modern and efficient to serve future generations and meet upcoming needs.
