Holi Rush: Indian Railways to Add Additional Coaches in Trains

Yatrigan Kripya Dhyan Dein! The festival of color is soon to be here. In such a situation, train travel becomes overcrowded and chaotic. To cope with the holiday rush of passengers on trains, Indian Railways have decided to add additional coaches to the train on the Lucknow-Gorakhpur train for a month. As a result, the passengers, filled with joy and enthusiasm, can access their native area conveniently during the Holi festival. 

 

Indian Railway To Run Holi Special Trains 

 

Almost everyone from every corner visits their homeland to celebrate the festival. The Indian Railway has announced a special Holi train to ease the Holi rush. These special trains will help people return home without worrying about unreserved seats. These trains are anticipated to run daily, weekly, and biweekly. The List of these trains is soon to be released.

 

 

Here’s the  Complete List of Holi Special Trains 2022:

 

1. Train Number 22945/22946 Mumbai Central-Okha (daily) will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Mumbai Central from January 15 to February 14 and Ex Okha from January 18 to February 17

 

2. Train Number 19252/19251 Okha-Somnath (daily) will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Okha from January 16 to February 15 and Ex Somnath from January 17 to February 16

 

3. Train Number 12927/12928 Mumbai Central-Ekta Nagar (daily) will be operated with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Mumbai Central from January 15 to February 14 and Ex Ekta Nagar from January 16 to February 15

 

4. Train Number 12961/12962 Mumbai Central-Indore (daily) to be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Mumbai Central from January 17 to February 16 and Ex Indore from January 18 to February

 

5. Train Number 22956/22955 Bhuj-Bandra Terminus (daily) will be equipped with an additional AC 3-tier coach. Ex Bhuj from January 16 to February 14 (except 20 and 24 January) and Bandra Terminus from January 17 and February 15 (except 21 and 25 January)

 

6. Train Number 12972/12971 Bhavnagar Terminus-Bandra Terminus (daily) will be added to the Sleeper class coach. Ex Bhavnagar Terminus from January 17 to January 31 (except 20, 21, 25, 30 January) and Bandra Terminus from January 20 to February 3 (except 23, 24, 28 January, and February 2, 2022)

 

7. Train Number 19217/19218 Bandra Terminus-Veraval (daily) will be equipped with an additional Sleeper class coach. Ex Bandra Terminus from January 18 to February 1 (except 21, 22, 26, and 31 January) and Veraval from January 19 to February 2 (except on 22, 23, 27 January, and February 1)

 

8. Train Number 19165/19166 Ahmedabad- will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Ahmedabad from January 16 to February 16 (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) and Dharbanga from January 19 to February 19 (Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday)

 

9. Train Number 19167/19168 Ahmedabad-Varanasi will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Ahmedabad from January 15 to February 15 (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturday) and Varanasi from January 18 to February 18 (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday)

 

10. Train Number 12919/12920 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Dr. Ambedkar Nagar from January 15 to February 14 and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from January 17 to February 16

 

11. Train Number 12923/12924 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Nagpur will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Dr. Ambedkar Nagar from January 18 to February 15 (Tuesday) and Ex Nagpur from January 19 to February 16 (Wednesday)

 

12. Train Number 19305/19036 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Kamakhya will be equipped with an additional AC 2-tier coach. Ex Dr. Ambedkar Nagar from January 20 to February 17 (Thursday) and Kamakhya from January 23 to February 20 (Sunday)

 

Updated List of Holi Special Trains 

 

Train Number 09417/ 09418 Ahmedabad – Danapur Special (2 trips) will comprise AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches. Train Number 09417 will depart from Ahmedabad on Monday, 14 March to reach Danapur and Train No. 09418 Danapur – Ahmedabad Special will depart from Danapur on Tuesday, 15 March to arrive at Ahmedabad.

 

Train No. 09061 / 09062 Bandra Terminus – Barauni Jn. Special (2 trips) will be equipped AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches. The train will depart from Bandra Terminus on Tuesday, 15 March & reach Barauni Jn. on Thursday. Similarly, Train No. 09062 Barauni Jn. – Bandra Terminus Special will depart from Barauni Jn. on Thursday, 17 March & will arrive at Bandra Terminus on Saturday. 

 

Train No. 09622 / 09621 Bandra Terminus – Ajmer Jn. Superfast Special (4 trips) will be added, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches. Train No. 09622 Bandra Terminus – Ajmer Jn Superfast Special will depart from Bandra Terminus on 21st & 28th March & will arrive Ajmer Jn. the next day. Similarly, Train No. 09621 Ajmer Jn. – Bandra Terminus Superfast Special will depart from Ajmer Jn. on 20th & 27th March & will arrive at Bandra Terminus the next day. 

 

05404 / 05403 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur – Special Unreserved (6 trips) will comprise General Second Class Coaches. Train No. 05404 Bandra Terminus – Gorakhpur Special will depart from Bandra Terminus on 12th, 19th & 26th March to reach Gorakhpur the next day. Similarly, Train No. 05403 Gorakhpur – Bandra Terminus Special will depart from Gorakhpur on Friday, 11th, 18th & 25th March 2022 will arrive at Bandra Terminus the next day.    

 

01015/01016 Mumbai-Danapur Special (4 trips) will be added One AC 2 Tier, 8 AC-3 Tier, 6 Sleeper Class and 4 Second Class Seating Train no.01015 special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on 15 & 22 March to reach Danapur and Train no.01016 special will leave Danapur on 16 & 23 March to arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.

 

01009/01010 Mumbai-Mau special (2 trips) will be equipped with One AC 2 Tier, 8 AC-3 Tier, 6 Sleeper Class and 4 Second Class Seating. Train no.01009 special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus on 15 March to Mau, and Train no.01010 special will leave Mau on 17 March to arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. 

 

01011/01012 Pune-Karmali Express (4 trips) will be equipped with One AC 2 Tier, 4 AC-3 Tier, 11 Sleeper Class and 6 Second Class Seating. Train no.01011 special will leave Pune on 11 March & 18 March to reach Karmali. Similarly, Train no.01012 special will leave Karmali on 13 March & 20 March to reach Pune.

 

01013/ 01014 Panvel-Karmali special (4 trips) will be equipped with One AC 2 Tier, 4 AC-3 Tier, 11 Sleeper Class and 6 Second Class Seating. Train no.01013 special will leave Panvel on 12 March & 19 March to arrive at Karmali. Similarly, Train no.01014 special will leave Karmali on 12 & 19 March to reach Panvel.

 

 


                                          

A monitoring cell has been established to keep track of the Holi Special Trains

 

The Indian railway will relieve the passengers from the long waiting list. A monitoring cell has been set up to keep track of these waitlisted trains. Officers from both commercial and operational sections are involved in this monitoring cell. The purpose of the cell is to keep a record of waitlisted trains according to their dates to add extra coaches to the train.

 

 

Ticket booking and reservations are now open for March 14

 

Train tickets to and from Lucknow for March 14 are now on sale. As a result, the Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminus Express will have AC III-Tier boogies from February 2 to March 30. A third-tier AC coach is scheduled for Gorakhpur-Panvel-Gorakhpur from February 1 to March 31.

 

 

Passengers are required to follow protocols and COVID 19 guidelines during the Train Journey

 

Despite the third Coronavirus variation looming over the nation, the Railway Ministry has issued guidelines for train travel which are as follows:

 

  • No passengers are permitted on station premises without masks. 
  • Following the protocol, passengers must carry hand sanitizers and bedrolls to prevent contamination. 
  • The vaccination certificate and RTPCR test are also obligatory before the train journey. 

 

The Indian Railways takes preventive measures to alleviate Holi rush and covid19 contamination. With this, passengers will enjoy a comfortable ride while remaining safe from the Coronavirus pandemic.
