Sampark Kranti Express is a series of superfast trains administered by the Indian Railways providing quick connectivity to the national capital, New Delhi. This series of high-speed trains were introduced as an alternative to the Rajdhani Express trains that gives high-speed railway connectivity to New Delhi. Rajdhani Express is a fully air-conditioned train and is a costly travel option. So, Indian railways launched Sampark Kranti trains to provide high-speed travel at affordable fares.

Sampark Kranti Express Trains

 

 

The series of Sampark Kranti trains connect the Indian states to India’s national capital city, New Delhi. Sampark Kranti trains on the Indian Railways rail network charge the same fare as standard/superfast trains and does not have any special facilities as on regular Express trains. The decision to operate this Express series of trains non-stop was cut short and commercial stops outside the states were made possible. The objective of the train is to reduce travel time without compromising passenger’s comfort.

 

The Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express was the first train which was launched on 8 February 2004. It ran from Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin to Yesvantpur. Originally, eighteen trains were introduced and later increased the number. Today, 23 pairs (46 in total) of Sampark Kranti train operating between several important cities to the national capital.   

 

The Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains are the fastest trains in India, relating to average journey speeds. The Sampark Kranti trains function at slower average speeds than the Rajdhani and Shatabdi express. But still, facilitate high-speed options at lower prices due to their few stops. Compared to other non-Rajdhani Express trains and non-Shatabdi Express trains, they are comparatively faster speeds, although they initially run non-stop as they leave their respective states.

 

Features and Facilities of Sampark Kranti Express

 

  1. Sampark Kranti is superfast trains of India operated by the Indian Railways.
  2. These trains operate at a speed of up to 110 km per hour.
  3. Though Sampark Kranti trains are not as fast as Rajdhani or Shatabdi, they are relatively faster and have fewer stops than other regular express trains. This ensures the link between the source and destination stations at high speed.
  4. The ticket fees for Sampark Kranti trains are almost identical to those of other regular or superfast express trains in India.
  5. Initially, Sampark Kranti Expresses were non-stop trains without any stops between the source and the destination station. But, commercial stops were later approved. 
  6. These trains do not have any special facilities that you might see in any other superfast or premium trains.  
  7. Most Sampark Kranti trains have seat availability in five travel classes – 1 AC, 2 AC, 3 AC, Sleeper Class (SL), and General/Unreserved. (GEN/UR). There are no 1 AC coaches on some Sampark Kranti trains, while some others have additional AC Chair Car coaches. The Uttarakhand Sampark Kranti Express has only two travel classes, namely AC Chair Car and Chair Car.
  8. The Sampark Kranti train ticket fares exclude food prices. Most long-distance Sampark Kranti trains have pantry car facilities from where travellers can order food in train.
  9. Essential facilities like mobile charging points and bags hanging holders are available on this series of trains. 
  10. Bed-rolls are available for passengers travelling in the AC coaches of Sampark Kranti train.

Sampark Kranti trains are currently running between the national capital and most of India’s state capitals or major cities, including Margao (Goa), Tirupati, Thiruvananthapuram, Jabalpur, Darbhanga, Mumbai, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Jodhpur, Madurai, Silchar, Khajuraho, and Kolkata. One of the longest-running Samp ark Kranti trains is the Kerala Sampark Kranti Express (12218). This train covers a single route of approximately 3415 km and joins Thiruvananthapuram via New Delhi to Chandigarh.

You can travel in Sampark Kranti train without prior reservation in general/unreserved (GEN/UR) coaches. Tatkal tickets can be booked on Sampark Kranti Express trains, and Tatkal’s general rules apply. For Sampark Kranti 1 AC coaches, please notice that Tatkal booking is not available. Sampark Kranti isn’t a premium train, so there’s no dynamic pricing available.

12565/12566 Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast Express

 

 

The Bihar Sampark Kranti superfast express operates under the governance of East Central Indian Railways. It runs between Darbhanga station and New Delhi station across the country daily. 

 

Train 12565 Bihar Sampark Kranti superfast express covers a distance between Darbhanga to New Delhi. Train number 12566 Bihar Sampark Kranti superfast express runs on the same route in the opposite direction.

The superfast train Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express operates with train numbers 12629 and 12630. It runs on a daily between Hazrat Nizamuddin junction and Yesvantpur junction across the country. The distance travelled by the Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express train is 2609 km. It takes about 47 hours and 5 minutes to cover the entire distance from Hazrat Nizamuddin junction to Yesvantpur. It has 14 halts within the travel.
