India Railways will not operate any trains to support Janta Curfew

The Railway Ministry has taken a big decision with regard to the Janta curfew announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi due to Coronavirus. In view of the public curfew, no passenger or express train will start from any station in the country between Saturdays midnight to Sunday at 10 pm. For the first time in the history of the country,3700 trains have been canceled simultaneously. No passenger train will operate from any station in India between Saturday’s midnight to Sunday night at ten o’clock. That is, from the midnight of Saturday 21 March 2020 till 10 PM on Sunday 22 March 2020. About 3700 trains have been canceled by Indian Railways. During this time, the trains which have departed before 21 pm on March 21, 2020, will reach their republic. The short distance trains which will be open from 12 pm on Saturday night to 10 pm on Sunday were canceled.

1300 mail-express 2400 passenger trains are canceled.
Due to public curfew, no passenger train will leave in the country between midnight of Saturday (12 noon) to Sunday night. The trains which have been started by 07:00 A.M in the morning will not have any effect on their operations and they can reach their destination without any interruption. It is also getting news that Mail-Express and Intercity Express also will not run from four o’clock in the morning to 10 o’clock in the night. In this way, a total of 2400 passenger and 1300 mail-express trains will be canceled.

No cancellation fee charged in these trains
IRCTC has said that ‘People who had booked tickets in these trains are being informed about it personally. No cancellation fee will be charged in these trains. Passengers will get full money back. He said, ‘It is important to ensure social distance. We are canceling only trains with less passengers.

No catering in trains from 22nd March
IRCTC has announced that the catering facility in mail and express trains will be closed from March 22 until further orders. Refreshment rooms, mass meals ,Food plazas, and cell kitchens will also be completely closed. Stationary units that supply food in prepaid trains will continue to operate.

90 trains canceled for long time due to Corona virus
Railways have canceled 90 trains running between 20th and 31st March in view of the low number of passengers and the corona virus epidemic. The number of canceled trains has increased to 245. Earlier on Thursday, Indian Railways canceled 84 trains and said that 155 trains have been canceled due to effect of Corona virus.

Metro rail service will remain closed in Delhi
Metro services will be closed in Delhi on Jan 22 curfew. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation tweeted and gave information about it’s non-operation. The Metro Rail Corporation also said that this step has been taken to keep people at home and away from congestion.

Corona virus outbreak continues to increase in the country
Let us know that more than 225 people have been infected with Corona virus in the country so far. These include 191 Indians and 32 foreign nationals. So far five people have died in India from Corona. The government has taken many precautionary steps after witnessing the havoc of Corona. The Maharashtra government has decided to keep all offices in many cities including Mumbai closed till 31st March.
