Indian Railways Festival Special Trains 2022

Yatrigan Kripya Dhyan Dein! The festive days are all around the corner. People are preparing for their trips to their most preferred locations. Considering rush on festivities, Indian Railways run special trains each year for different Indian festivals such as Durga Puja, Diwali, Chhath, Onam, Holi, etc.   

 

Indian Railways has released the list of festival special trains 2022 on increased travel demand for the upcoming festive season.

 

Central Railway Festival Special Train 

 

Central Railway has announced 82 additional rail services to clear the rush on Indian Railways because of  Durga Puja, Deepavali, and Chhath. Here is the schedule of Central Railways festival special trains. 

 

  • Dadar-Ballia Tri-Weekly festival special train will provide 26 services. The 01025 special will leave Dadar Terminus at 2:15 PM every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 03.10.2022 to 31.10.2022 and will reach Ballia at 01.45 AM on the third day. The 01026 special will depart Ballia at 3:15 PM every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 05.10.2022 to 2.11.2022 and will arrive at Dadar Terminus at 03.35 hrs on the third day.
  • Dadar-Gorakhpur festival special will provide 36 services. The festival special train will run for four days a week. The 01027 special will depart from  Dadar every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 2:15 PM from 01.10.2022 to 30.10.2022 and arrive at Gorakhpur at 02.45 AM on the third day. The 01028 special will leave Gorakhpur every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 02:25 PM from 03.10.2022 to 01.11.2022 and will reach Dadar at 03.35 AM on the third day.
  • Mumbai-Nagpur Weekly Superfast Special will provide 4 services. The 01033 Special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 12:20 AM on 22.10.2022 and 29.10.2022 and arrive at Nagpur at 03.32 PM the same day. The 01034 Special will leave Nagpur at 01.30 PM on 23.10.2022 and 30.10.2022 and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 04:10 AM the next day.
  • Mumbai-Malda Town Weekly Special will provide 4 services. The 01031 Superfast Special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 11:05 AM on 17.10.2022 and 24.10.2022 and arrive at Malda Town at 12.45 AM on the third day. The 01032 Special will leave Malda Town at 12:20 PM on 19.10.2022 and 26.10.2022 and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 03:50 AM on the third day.
  • Lokmanya Tilak Terminus – Gorakhpur Superfast Weekly Special will provide 4 services. 02105 special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 05:15 AM on 19.10.2022 and 26.10.2022 and arrive at Gorakhpur at 05:15 PM the next day. 02106 special will leave Gorakhpur at 03:00 AM on 21.10.2022 and 28.10.2022 and arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 01:15 PM the next day.
  • Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Samastipur BiWeekly Superfast Specials provides 8 services. The 01043 Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus every Sunday and Thursday at 12.15 PM from 20.10.2022 to 30.10.2022 and arrive at Samastipur at 09:15 PM the next day. The 01044 special will leave Samastipur every Monday and Friday at 11:30 PM from 21.10.2022 to 31.10.2022 and arrive at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 07:40 AM on the third day. 

 

Northern Railways Festival Special Train

 

To ease the rush of passengers on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath Puja. Northern Railways has announced the list on festival special trains 2022 for the month of October and November. Here is the list of Diwali and Chhath special trains and their timetable.

  • The train number 01671 Anand Vihar Terminal to Udhampur will depart Anand Vihar at 11 PM to reach Udhampur at 12 PM each Monday and Thursday from 3 October to 10 November 2022. The same train with train number 01672 departs from Udhampur at 10:10 PM to arrive at Anand Vihar each Tuesday and Friday from 4 October to 11 November.
  • The festive special train Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Varanasi, 01654, will depart the station at 11:10 PM on Sunday from 2 October to 13 November. The train will return from Varanasi to Vaishno Devi, 01653 on Tuesday at 6: 15 AM from 4 October to 15 November.
  • The special train will run from Delhi Jn to Varanasi, 01674. The train will depart at 11 PM from Delhi on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday from 18 October to 11 November 2022. The return train 01673 will depart from Varanasi at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, Saturday and Monday from 19 October to 12 November to reach Delhi.
  • 04490, Hazrat Nizamuddin to Lucknow AC Puja Special train will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin at 9:45 PM each Monday from 3 October to 7 November 2022. The train will return with train number 04489 at 7:05 PM from Lucknow each Monday from 6 October to 10 November.
  • Train number 04494,  Anand Vihar Terminus to Lucknow festival special train will leave the Anand Vihar at 9:50 PM on Wednesday from 5 October to 9 November. The train 04493 will return from Lucknow for Anand Vihar at 7:05 PM on Tuesday from 4 October to 8 November.
  • 01633 New Delhi- Udhampur festive train will leave New Delhi at 11:30 PM to reach Udhampur on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 30 September to 11 November. The same train with number 01634 will return to New Delhi on Thursday, Saturday, and Monday from 1 October to 12 November. The train will leave Udhampur at 9:40 PM.
  • 04249, Varanasi- Aanand Bihar Terminus festival special train will depart from Varanasi at 7:30 PM each Tuesday from 4  October to 8 November. The train, 04250, will leave Aanand Bihar at 6:15 PM to reach Varanasi each Wednesday from 5 October to 9 November 2022.
  • Puja special train 82315 will depart from Kolkata at 11:25 AM for Haridwar on 1 October 2022. The same train with train number 82316 will return to Kolkata on 2 October at 8:30 PM.
  • 03169, Kolkata to Haridwar special train will depart from the station at 11:25 AM on Saturday from 8 October to 12 November 2022. The train 03170 will depart at 8:30 PM from Haridwar to reach Kolkata on Sunday from 9 October to 13 November.

Northern Railways has released the list of 36 festival special trains to handle the crowd of Diwali and Chhath. Here is the timetable of these special rails.

  • 01655- Gorakhpur-Chandigarh Weekly AC. Special every Friday from 21.10.2022 to 11.11 2022. 
  • 01678- New Delhi – Gaya Bi-Weekly Super-Fast every Monday and Friday from 17.10.22 to 11.11.22
  • 01677- Gaya-New Delhi Bi-Weekly Super-Fast every Tuesday and Saturday from 18.10.22 to 12.11.22

Festive Special Durga Puja Trains 2022

 

Durga Puja is the most exciting festival in India. The country dives deep into spirituality to celebrate the homecoming of the deity Durga. People from all corners of India visit their homes or plan trips to the cities famous for the Durga Puja celebration. Passengers can check Puja special trains for their Durga Puja trip.  

 

 

List of Durga Puja Special Trains 2022

 

In 2022, the Navaratri will start on 26 September and end on 4 October. 5 October will be celebrated as Vijayadashami. With the Indian railway’s special trains, commuters can travel to their destination conveniently. 

 

Indian Railways have announced several Puja special trains for different routes to clear the crowd of festivals. 

 

Special Trains between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri

 

Indian Railway is operating two pairs of trains between Howrah to New Jalpaiguri. Both trains will stop at Bandel, Azimganj, Malda Town, Katwa, Jangipur Road, Barsoi, Kishanganj and Aluari Road stations en route. 

 

  • Howrah- New Jalpaiguri- Howrah Suvidha Puja Special Train 82301/82302

 

The train will run for one trip on 5 October, Wednesday at 11: 40 PM from Howrah and reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:10 AM. The same train will return from New Jalpaiguri at 12:35 PM on 6 October for Howrah. The total coach of the train will be 20, which includes one AC 2-tier, five AC 3-tier, nine Sleeper Class, three 2nd class, one LSLRD, and one Power Car. 

 

  • Howrah- New Jalpaiguri- Howrah Puja Special 03027/03028

 

The mail-express train will run for 8 trips every Wednesday from 12 October to 30 November. The train will  Howrah at 11:40 AM to reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:10 AM. The puja special train will return on every Thursday from Jalpaiguri at 12:35 PM from 13 October to 1 December to reach Howrah at 12:50 AM on Friday.  Moreover, the coach composition of Howrah Puja special includes one AC 1st-cum-AC 2-tier, one Ac-2-tier, five AC 3-tier, nine sleeper class, three 2nd class, one LSLRD, and one power car. The total number of coaches will be 21. 

 

Puja Special Trains for Sealdah to Kamakhya 

 

The Railways has announced two pairs of trains from Sealdah to Kamakhya. Both trains will run via Goalpara town and stop at Bandel, Azimganj, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, Naihati, Katwa, Jangipur Road, Barsoi, Kishanganj, Aluabari Road, New Cooch Behar, Kokrajhar, and New Bongaigaon stations en route. There will be 18 coaches on both trains, including 16 AC 3-tier and 2 Power cars. 

 

  • Sealdah- Kamakhya- Sealdah Suvidha Puja Special 82313/82314

 

The Suvidha Puja special train will run for one trip from Sealdah on 30 September at 11:50 PM and reach Kamakhya on 1 November at 5:45 PM. The train will return from Kamkhaya on 1 September at 11:15 PM for Sealdah. 

 

  • Sealdah- Kamakhya- Sealdah AC Puja Special 03173/03174 

 

The mail express will run for eight trips on every Friday from 7 October to 25 November from Sealdah at 11:50 PM to reach Kamakhya at 5:45 PM. The return train will depart from Kamakhya on the next day at 11:15 PM. 

 

Special Trains for Kolkata-Haridwar 

 

Eastern Railway Kolkata will operate two pairs of trains from Kolkata to Haridwar. Both the trains will halt at Naihati, Durgapur, Asansol, Jhajha, Kiul, Mokama, Patna, Varanasi, Bareilly, and Lucknow en route. There will be 17 coaches in both the trains consisting of 5 Ac 3-tier, 10 Sleeper classes and 2 SLRD. 

 

  • Kolkata-Haridwar-Kolkata Suvidha Special 82315/82316

 

The Suvidha special train will run at 11:25 AM on 1 October, Sunday, from Kolkata to reach Haridwar and return to Kolkata from Haridwar at 8:30 PM on 2 October, Sunday. 

 

  • Kolkata- Haridwar-Kolkata Puja Special 03169/03170

 

The puja special mail express will run every Saturday from 8 October to 12 November at 11:25 AM and return to Kolkata from Haridwar at 8:30 PM from 9 October to 13 November each Sunday. 

 

Other Durga Puja Special Trains

 

Here are some other Puja special trains from Kolkata, Sealdah and Howrah. 

 

  • Kolkata-Ajmer-Kolkata Puja Special Train 03125/03126

 

The Puja special train will run via Dankuni for four trips. The train will depart from Kolkata at 02:00 PM every Tuesday from 4 October to 25 October and reach Ajmer at 7:40 PM the next day. The same train will return for Kolkata from Ajmer at 10:00 PM every Wednesday from 5 October to 26 October. The train will halt at rail station- Barddhman, Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur, Jhajha, Kiul, Mokama, Bakhtiyarpur, Patna, Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Mugalsarai, Jasidih and Kanpur. There will be a composition of 18 train coaches, including 5 Ac 3-tier, 10 Sleeper classes, and 2 SLRD. 

 

  • Howrah-Raxaul Puja Special Train 03043/03044

 

To ease passengers’ travel experience during Durga Puja, the railway has decided to run a special train from Howrah to Raxaul. The train will run each Saturday from 1 to 29 October at 10:55 PM from Howrah for Raxaul, and the same train will return for Howrah from Raxaul on Sunday at 03:45 PM. The train will halt at Jasidih, Jhajha, Kiul, Barauni, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, etc. 

 

  • Sealdah- Gorakhpur Puja Special Train 03131/03132

 

Sealdah-Gorakhpur Puja special train will depart from Sealdah every Sunday from 2 to 30 October at 11:05 PM for Gorakhpur. The train will leave Gorakhpur each Sunday at 6:55 PM to reach Sealdah. The train will stop at Naihati, Bandel, Durgapur, Shahpur, Hajipur, Chhapra, Siwan etc. 

 

Delhi – Vaishno Devi Special Train  

 

IRCTC Vaishno Devi train is a special tourist train under Bharat Gaurav rake for the devotees willing to go for the Darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine during Durga Puja.  The train will leave the Safardganj Delhi on September 30 for 4-nights and 5-days trip to Vaishno Devi.  The train compose 11 dedicated 3-tier AC which will accommodate 600 tourists. Passengers can board and de-board the train at multiple locations including Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Ambala, Sirhind, Ludhiana. The ticket price of the Vaishno Devi Special train is  ₹13,790 for Single share and ₹11,990 for double or triple share. 

 

Things to Know for Pujo Special Trains 

 

  • Ticket booking for 82301/82302, 82313/82314, 03027/03028, and 03173/03174 will start on & from 16 September 2022 through the PRS counter and internet.
  • Ticket booking for Kolkata to Haridwar and Ajmer special trains will start from 12 September. 
  • Tatkal booking is not available for Puja special trains. 
  • Railway concession will not be applicable for Puja trains. 
  • The dynamic charge can be applicable for Suvidha Puja specials. 
  • For Puja special trains, there will be additional charges apart from the mail express charge.
  • SLRD coaches will be run as unreserved.
