Online Ticket Booking Open Today for 200 Trains Running From June 1

Indian Railways has released the list of 200 passenger trains running from 1st June. Ticket booking for these trains has started from today. Ticket booking will be done only through the IRCTC website or app. No station counter will open. Railways have also made it clear that they will have all types of coaches including AC, Non-AC and General. Only Non-AC trains were said to run on Tuesday, but now Railways has decided to run trains with all classes of coaches. The names of trains like Duronto, Sampark Kranti, Jan Shatabdi and Poorva Express are in the list issued by the railway.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in a tweet, ‘Railways will start 200 non-AC trains from June 1, which will run according to the time table. Passengers will only be able to book tickets online for these trains.” With the introduction of these services, the citizens will get a big relief, and they will be able to reach their destinations.

Ticket Will Also be Booked for General Coaches
Railways have clarified that travelling without a reservation will not be allowed. Tickets can also be booked for General Coaches. The passengers will have to pay the second seating (2S) fare and will get a reserved seat. Fares in all other classes will remain the same as normal trains. These trains will be allowed to book tickets up to a maximum of 30 days ahead. Waiting and RAC tickets will also be available as per the rules, but the waiting list passengers will not be allowed to travel. Tatkal & premium Tatkal booking will not be allowed.

Guidelines for Travelling
1. Only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the railway station.
2. Wearing masks will be mandatory for all passengers during the journey.
3. Passengers must have arrived at the station one and a half hours earlier so that thermal screening can be done.
4. Only people with no symptoms will be allowed to travel.
5. Passengers will have to take care of social distancing both at the station and inside the train.

Operation of Local Trains Will Remain Closed
The Shramik Special trains and the 15 pairs of special trains are already running. Apart from them, these 200 trains will run from June 1. It can be suggested that the railway is moving gradually towards the normal operation of trains. According to the timetable from June 1, the trains running can be seen as an effort to resume the normal operation of Railways. It has been said by the Railway Ministry that apart from this 200 trains, the normal circulation of the remaining trains will remain closed. The operation of local trains will also remain cancelled till further orders.
Catering & E-catering in Trains Will Remain Suspended
No catering charges shall be included in the fare. Provision for pre-paid meal booking, e-catering shall be disabled. However, IRCTC shall make provisions for certain eatables as well as packaged drinking water on payment basis only in some selective trains that have the Pantry car attached. Information to this effect shall be made available to passengers during the time of booking ticket. On Wednesday, Railways also issued an order that food shops and food plazas will be opened at railway stations. But there will be no facility of sitting there. Railways took this decision so that people do not have any problem related to a lack of eating and drinking facility. However, travellers have also been advised to bring their food and drink, considering the risk of spread of coronavirus.
