Operation of Local Trains Will Remain Closed

The Shramik Special trains and the 15 pairs of special trains are already running. Apart from them, these 200 trains will run from June 1. It can be suggested that the railway is moving gradually towards the normal operation of trains. It has been said by the Railway Ministry that apart from this 200 trains, the normal circulation of the remaining trains will remain closed. The operation of local trains will also remain cancelled till further orders.

Catering & E-catering in Trains Will Remain Suspended

No catering charges shall be included in the fare. Provision for pre-paid meal booking, e-catering shall be disabled. However, IRCTC shall make provisions for certain eatables as well as packaged drinking water on payment basis only in some selective trains that have the Pantry car attached. Information to this effect shall be made available to passengers during the time of booking ticket. On Wednesday, Railways also issued an order that food shops and food plazas will be opened at railway stations. But there will be no facility of sitting there. Railways took this decision so that people do not have any problem related to a lack of eating and drinking facility. However, travellers have also been advised to bring their food and drink, considering the risk of spread of coronavirus.
