Indian Railways Achieves 100 Per Cent Punctuality Rate First Time in History

Indian Railways has said that 100 per cent punctuality rate has been achieved for the first time in the history of railways. All trains have departed on time. Earlier, this record was 99.54 per cent because a train was delayed on June 23 2020.

 

Indian Railways has set a new record. Indian Railways’ trains that were once known for their latency are running ahead of schedule. For the first time in history, 100 per cent of the railway’s trains have reached their destinations on time.

 

All the 201 trains run by the railways on July 1, reached their destination on time. In the last few years, the Railways Department has worked hard to reduce this latency. In the last few months, the railways have also become punctual. A continuous decline has been observed in the rate of the late arrival of trains.

100 Per Cent Success Rate on the Running Status of Trains

According to the information received, Indian Railways operated 201 trains on July 1. On this day, trains didn’t miss the schedule and reached the destination at their scheduled time. Overall, the railway department has achieved 100% success in terms of timing. Experts say that till now in Indian history, Railways had not achieved this success. However, on June 23, the Railways operated almost all its trains on time. But during that time 99.54% of the trains were able to reach their destination on time.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal Also Tweeted This Information

On this occasion, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted that Railways are running in the fast lane and are continually improving their services. Indian Railways set a record of 100% trains arriving on time on July 1 2020.

 

In the lockdown implemented amid the Corona crisis, the railways have proved to be very helpful in getting people to their destinations.

 

IRCTC Compensate Passengers on the Late Arrival of Private Trains

Passengers get compensation when the Tejas Express does not reach on scheduled time. Passengers are given a partial refund in case the train is late. If the train is delayed for more than 1 hour, then passengers are given a return of Rs 100, and a refund of Rs 250 if they are late for more than two hours. However, this facility is available only in private trains. This facility is not available in trains run by railways.

 

Railways Are Ready to Run Trains at a Speed of 130 KMPH

Indian Railways is also emphasizing on increasing the speed of its trains. Preparations are being made to run trains at a speed of 130 KMPH on two routes from Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi to Howrah. Its purpose is to ensure the movement of passengers in a short time. Talking on this issue, Railway Board Pradeep Kumar said that the Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai route is almost ready. Trains on this route can run at a speed of 130 KMPH. Trains are expected to run at this pace on both directions in this financial year.
